Shady Oaks considers for enrollment students who:
- Are age seven to fourteen
- Are in need of remedial help with academics in order to return to a traditional classroom and be successful
- Intelligence scores in the average range
- May have dyslexia, processing delays, learning disabilities, perceptual learning problems, or attention deficit disorder
It
is important that students be diagnosed by a licensed psychologist and
that the report is made available to the school so that a learning plan
can be developed. Our staff is prepared and trained in working
with a wide variety of educational diagnoses.
Parents
who are interested in enrolling a student in Shady Oaks need to
schedule an appointment with the school director. At that time, the
parents and child will schedule a visit to the classroom where the
teacher will spend time with the student in a relaxed and informal
setting while observing responses, behaviors, and educational strengths
and weaknesses. After meeting with the student, the teacher and
school director will discuss a learning plan with the parents.
Upon Acceptance at Shady Oaks, the registration fee is required along
with the enrollment forms. All former test results should be
immediately sent to Shady Oaks.
